David Beckham to be Officially Knighted on Nov 4, 2025
Football icon David Beckham is next in line for one of the UK’s most prestigious honours: a formal knighthood ceremony. According to a statement from Buckingham Palace, the former England captain will receive his investiture on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, at Windsor Castle, likely hosted by either King Charles III or Princess Anne.
At that ceremony, Beckham’s new title will become Sir David Beckham, and his wife, Victoria Beckham, will be styled Lady Beckham. His knighthood is awarded “for services to sport and charity”.
Beckham, now 50, has had a storied career: over 100 appearances for England, a key role in the London 2012 Olympics bid, a long record of charitable work including a decades-long ambassadorship with UNICEF, and more recently becoming an ambassador for the King’s Foundation.
He was previously appointed OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) back in 2003. The decision to grant a knighthood now reflects his sustained legacy in both sport and public service.
This investiture will formalize his place among British sporting legends who have been knighted. The public ceremony itself is a high-profile royal event, and will attract significant media attention — not just for Beckham’s name but because it underscores his ongoing relationship with the royal household and his charitable engagements.
